Artist Statement

My work has an emphasis on formalism using found objects, everyday materials, and fragmented self-portraiture. I see inspiration in the world around me, in construction zones, graffiti, traffic, architecture, advertising, and the human form.

My process is both additive and subtractive. Each decision informs the next. In my mixed media work, this is accomplished by layering different mediums and sometimes sanding or scraping them down to create new forms and textures. In my filmmaking, this happens in the editing room by mixing footage, color, and sound.
